[Coral-List] Diadema and sea level rise (Douglas Fenner)

Doug, 50 years ago I did some marine specimen collections in Fiji with a sea
urchin  expert. During his years of research he probably had more urchin
spines in him than anyone. I think his name was Dr. Judge Gooding. He
recommended breaking up or crushing  the spines in your skin with tweezers
or pliers (ouch!) to allow them to dissolve away and heal more quickly. I
have tried that and it seems to help.
