*Position Summary:*
CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) is seeking part-time, seasonal (approximately
May-September) marine biologists or marine science technicians to support
field surveys requiring scientific diving. These positions will be based
out of the Stuart, Florida office. Position is on-call depending on weather
but can be full-time during the survey season and requires periodic
domestic travel, often at short notice, prolonged consecutive days of work,
including some weekends. Pay range $18-21 per hour.  Dive pay is also
offered.

*Responsibilities and Essential Functions:*

   - Participation in nearshore diving surveys, sometimes with prolonged
   consecutive days of work
   -  Assist with data collection by conducting field surveys including but
   not limited to measurements, recording data, and collecting quantitative
   video and still photographs
   -  Possible work on weekends or holidays
   -  May contribute to data entry and quality assurance
   -  Adhering to company standards and procedures for scientific diving,
   data collection, quality control, and health, safety, security, and the
   environment (HSSE)
   - Being accountable and responsible for personal safety and safety of
   others
   - Attending safety meetings and satisfactory completion of assigned
   training and safety meetings as applicable, and
   -  Other duties as assigned.

*Critical Skills and Requirements:*

   - Florida resident
   - Coursework toward or completion of BSc in marine science, biology,
   ecology, or a related field
   - Field survey and data collection experience including measurements,
   recording data, and quantitative video/photographs
   - Advanced Open Water certification through an accredited program with
   at least 75 logged dives
   - Full set of serviced scuba diving equipment (must provide
   documentation)
   - Comfortable diving in low visibility, surge, and swell
   - Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
   - Possession of a valid U.S. Driver’s license

*Preferred Skills:*

   - Rescue diver certification
   - Current CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Provider certifications
   - Scientific diver training or AAUS certification
   - Familiarity with benthic marine and estuarine habitats and taxonomic
   skills
   - Experience collecting transect and quadrat data
   - GPS/GIS experience
   - Trailering and driving a small vessel (<30 feet)
