Hello Coral-List,

We have just revisited an enduring topic that remains relevant due to the
ongoing challenge of accurately assessing coral cover decline. By employing
reefscape photogrammetry as a reference, we compared the precision and
accuracy of AGRRA, ReefCheck, and Photoquadrat protocols.

Precision and accuracy of common coral reef sampling protocols revisited

Please note that we did not aim to determine a "best protocol." Instead, we
focus on discussing costs, engagement of citizen scientists, and ideal
sample sizes under different contexts of algal/turf/coral dominance. We
believe these topics will be of interest to many here on Coral List.

All the best, Rodrigo
