<P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt; FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">I am trying to keep zooxantelly or brown algae cell cultures from <EM><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Tahoma">Pseudopterogorgia elisabethae </SPAN></EM>in order to study the chemistry. In our lab we found Pseudopterosin which is a natural product that has anti-inflammatory properties. We work on marine natural products. Now the aim is to have nice and clean cell cultures.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I have these particular samples that keep growing green algae and contaminate my samples. This sample is from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Cross</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Harbor</st1:PlaceType> in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Bahamas</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Does anyone know how I can get ready of these green algae that are taking over my cultures?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Please consider that I can't harm my cells. To me this algae looks like Tolypothrix (cynobacteria). I have used antibiotics at different concentrations and filtrations, but neither one worked.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
