I wanted to make you aware of this funding opportunity through the
Caribbean Coral Reef Institute. The pre-proposals are due May 18, 2007.

The Caribbean Coral Reef Institute (CCRI) (ccri.uprm.edu) is a
Cooperative Agreement between the
University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez and the Center for Sponsored
Coastal Ocean Research (CSCOR)
of the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA)
contributing to the mission of
NOAA’s Coral Reef Conservation Program. The CCRI is presently soliciting
pre-proposals for coral reef
research in the US Caribbean region for FY2008. Specific priority will
be research directly related or
leading to the development, evaluation, and enhancement of coral reef
management policies under the
following themes:
Coral Reef Status Assessments
Reef Fisheries Management
Evaluation of Governance Effectiveness
Dynamics of Coral Diseases and Syndromes
Water Quality and Coral Reef Health Linkages
Development/Improvement of Reef Restoration Techniques
Basic Coral and Coral Reef Ecosystem Processes
