Digital video cameras

Dear colleagues,

Is there anyone out there in cyberspace that has experience using digital
video cameras for wet data collection and subsequent analysis.

More specifically I'm interested in your experiences with 

the Sony DCR-VX1000 (preferably using the Amphibico under-water housing), and 

the Panasonic 3CCD DV-camcorder (Seapro housing).
