bereaved dolphin behaviour?

I have received a report of a female dolphin
lingering for three days (so far) in a shallow
lagoon by a dying, now dead baby dolphin.
I wonder if anyone reading this has any 
experience with this phenomenon and any 
advice for concerned observers such as what 
to expect or do
