sponge preservation

Dear coral list
Could anyone suggest me the best method 
to preserve sponge for further idenfication?
I help my friends collect sponge specimens 
for antibiotic test and he want to know its 
name. Therefore we need to keep these 
specimens in a good condition for further 
identifation.
