RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE) in the field of Coral Reef Ecology- The Center for Marine Science at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate for an initial 12-month, renewable (maximum of 36 months) non-tenure track research faculty.  Expertise is sought in the fields of coral larval ecology, coral recruitment, coral population dynamics, crustose coralline algae,  and coral reef  restoration ecology.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in marine biology or marine sciences.  Successful applicants will work with UNCW faculty, and will be expected to develop independent funding, work with graduate students and help with the development of a coral reef ecology field course.  Experience in scuba diving and small boat handling is desired. Position available July 1, 2004.  Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
