The University of the Virgin Islands has a Research Analyst position open 
on the island of St. Croix, USVI.  Information about the position is given

The University of the Virgin Islands is seeking applicants for a Research 
Analyst I in the Center for Marine and Environmental Studies.

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for 
assisting the Marine Advisor in implementing a coral reef monitoring 
program and a marine education and outreach program.  This includes 
providing administrative support for the office, data analyses, SCUBA 
diving, operation of a small boat, and leading wetland tours.  The 
candidate will also assist the Marine Advisor with other marine outreach 
and research activities as needed for the VIMAS program.  Important 
characteristics include good reading, writing, and oral communication 
skills, proficiency in word processing, ability to work with children, 
ability to operate a small boat and SCUBA diving.  Knowledge of the local 
marine life and experience with web page design are desirable.

Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's of Science degree; SCUBA 
certification; driver's license; ability to work independently and 
cooperatively with others, and familiarity with local marine resources and 
the desire to learn more about them.  Compensation for this position is 
$12.41 per hour.
