Coral Reef Presentations at Schools in Guam and CNMI by Attendees at the
October 2003 U.S. Coral Reef Task Force Meeting

As part of the outreach and education activities associated with the
Fall 2003 U.S. Coral Reef Task Force Meeting in CNMI (Commonwealth of
the Northern Mariana Islands) and Guam, we would like to announce an
opportunity for you to share your knowledge with school students in
grades K – 12.  We are seeking individuals who would be interested in
talking with students about their careers in marine science/coral reefs,
as well as sharing information about coral reefs.

match you with a school requesting a speaker.

Specifics:

Length of talk:  30 minutes to 1 hour
Time:   Usually during morning session (between 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

Dates:  September 29th (Monday) through October 2nd (Thursday) in CNMI,
and October 7th  (Tuesday) in Guam, though other days are possible too
Grades:  K to 12
Schools:  Public and private (There are many opportunities, as in CNMI
alone there are over 20 schools on all 3 islands.)
Topics:
a) Coral reef related with respect to the presenter’s job/task in
protecting/preserving coral reefs (career discussion as well as coral
reef  discussion).
b) Reading stories about coral reefs (bring book).
c) Coral reef related  - showing pictures/video of impacts to reefs,
research on reefs, reef restoration, etc.
