Dear all,

I am seeking the assistance of two experienced divers in conducting
research during mass coral spawning on the Great Barrier Reef. The
research trip will be on 11-17 November, 2003, at a cost of AU $2350
that covers on-board accommodation (twin share cabins) on a
live-aboard boat Undersea Explorer (UE), all chef-cooked meals, tank
refills, boating, etc. For more information about Undersea Explorer
see their web site www.undersea.com.au.

UE are assisting in my research of the diversity and role of colour
and fluorescent pigments in corals and in coral bleaching. During the
trip I will investigate egg pigmentation of different coral colour
morphs as well as do some comparative analysis of spawning of corals
that had bleached during the 2002 mass bleaching event. I will be
working together with an underwater filming team and will require
some assistance with underwater UV lights, sampling of spawning
corals, video transects, etc but the assistants will be able to
participate in recreational dives as well. Most of the diving will
take place at around Ribbon reefs and Lizard Island at some very
spectacular locations. Please get in touch via email if interested.

Regards
Anya
