Post-doctoral and graduate assistant positions are immediately available in
Marine Biotechnology within the Ocean Biotechnology Center & Repository, a
division of the National Institute of Undersea Science and Technology,
located at the University of Mississippi (Oxford, MS).  For post-docs, we
anticipate an initial duration of one year, with renewal up to three years
contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance.  MS and PhD students
will be funded for 2 to 5 years, respectively.

Marine Biotechnology:  Post-doc applicants must possess a Ph.D. in
Molecular Biology, Natural Products Research, and/or a related field with
experience in marine ecosystems.  Responsibilities include sample
processing, molecular and chemical characterization of species and
individuals within populations, experimental design & data analysis, and
publishing.  Organizational, verbal and written skills, and the ability to
work with/train students are requisite.  Techniques applied may include PCR
and sequencing, HPLC & HPLC/MS, spectrophotometry and NMR for detection of
novel molecules, proteins, and genes relevant to our biotechnological
mission.  Graduate students will focus within one of these areas, and
cross-train into other areas.
