INDONESIA
CORAL REEF REHABILITATION AND MANAGEMENT PROJECT (PHASE II)
Loan No. 4740-IND


The Government of Indonesia has received a loan, a credit and a grant from
the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD),
International Development Association (IDA) and the Global Environment
Facility (GEF) Trust Fund respectively totaling US$ 63.7 million equivalent
toward the cost of the Coral Reef Rehabilitation and Management Project
(Phase II) (COREMAP), and it intends to apply the proceeds from these
sources to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting
services to be procured under this project.  Procurement of contracts
financed by project will be conducted through the procedures specified in
the World Bank's most recent Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and
IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as
defined in the guidelines. A consultant will be selected in accordance with
the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and
Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised
September 1997, January 1999, and May 2002).



The development objective of the COREMAP is to establish viable, operational
and institutionalized coral reef management systems in six priority
districts in Eastern Indonesia. The project will revive damaged and
threatened coral reef ecosystems, which, in turn, will enhance the welfare
of related communities.  The project will include the following components:
(i) institutional strengthening; (ii) community based and collaborative
management; and (iii) public awareness, education and the Sea Partnership
Program.


Prequalification of one individual international consultant is required for
the position of Project Management Advisor.  The individual consultant's
credentials should include: (i) minimum of a Masters Degree in an
appropriate related discipline; (ii) minimum 10 years experience as team
leader on marine and/or coastal resource management projects; and (iii)
excellent written and spoken English and Indonesian.  The consultancy
services will be for a period of 30 person months. The Project Management
Advisor will be based in Jakarta with considerable travel required to
Eastern Indonesia.  The consultant's primary responsibility is to support
the Project's National Coordination Unit as well as the 6 district Project
Management Units in all facets of project implementation. It is anticipated
that the contract will start in November 2004.



The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries now invites eligible
consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.  The
individual consultant should submit a letter of application and a curriculum
vitae (CV) to the address below.  Interested eligible individuals who wish
to be included on a short list and thereby receiving an invitation to tender
are encouraged to obtain further information at the address below from
10:00-15:00 WIB.  Submittals must be delivered to the address below by 16:00
WIB on 30 August 2004.
