The tranquil waters of Solomon Islands have yielded a harvest of hope -
exquisite black pearls that promise a lifetime of pleasure to those who
acquire them and new livelihoods for people emerging from years of civil
unrest.

 

These beautiful pearls are the rich reward of an international aid project*
designed to create new jobs for Solomon Islanders. They are being showcased
to the world at a special auction in Sydney on 30 June. To see the pearl
