[Coral-List] coral surface area

I am trying to find a method of assessing branching coral surface area for
Acropora millepora other than the wax weight method, foil wrap or
decalcifation.  My aim is to assess total colony surface area to standardise
physiological measurements to colony size for 40 colonies of approximately
30 - 40 cm in diameter without destroying the colonies.
