Jeri's suggestion of Myer's "Micronesian Reef Fishes" is an excellent 
one, but make sure you get the hardcover 3rd edition, which covers more 
species then the previous editions, particularly juvenile stages.

Also useful:

"Fishes of the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea" by Randall, Allen, and 
Steene

"Reef Fish Identification: Tropical Pacific" by Allen, Steene, Humann 
and DeLoach.
