Aloha,

I am happy to announce that, on behalf of the steering committee for
Hawaii's Land-based Pollution Threats to Coral Reefs Local Action
Strategy (LBPAS), the University of Hawaii is now hiring for a LBPAS
Coordinator. The position is located with the University of Hawaii,
Agricultural Extension Service on either Oahu or Maui (see ad
http://workatuh.hawaii.edu/zoom_job.php?3409). Please pass this job
announcement on to anyone who may be interested.

The LBPAS is a three-year management plan focusing on three ahupua'a
(watersheds) in the State of Hawaii: Hanalei, Kauai; Honolua, Maui;
and Kawela-Kapualei, Molokai. With the support of community members in
each area, a list of priority projects has been developed and
implementation is beginning with approximately $1.5 million dollars
that has been identified to date.

The steering committee for the LBPAS includes representatives from
USDA/NRCS, EPA, Hawaii DLNR/DAR, USGS, Hawaii DOH, and Hawaii CZM. The
coordinator would be responsible for working with the community groups
and the steering committee to fully implement the LBPAS.

Inquiries: Dr. Carl Evensen (UH) 808-956-8825
Closing date: Dec-15-2004
