As a point of comparison, neither one of the three species of Meandrina bleaches annually in La Parguera, Puerto Rico, or in Los Roques, Venezuela. They have bleached during intensive bleaching events in the past, but they do not bleach ion a regular basis. The pattern described for Florida is certainly not the rule for the rest of the Caribbean. EW
