The "State of the Great Barrier Reef On-line" is the Great
Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority's 'report card' on the
condition and health of the Great Barrier Reef. As a web
based document, the report is regularly updated and new
chapters and material added to the report as 'update
chapters'.

The latest update chapters to the State of the Great Barrier
Reef On-line have now been published. The chapter
"Environmental status - Marine mammals" describes the status
of marine mammals (dugongs, whales and dolphins) in the
GBRMP, the pressures they are under and the
responses taken by the GBRMPA and other management agencies
to manage these pressures.

The second chapter "Environmental status - Crown-of-thorns
starfish" details the current situation regarding COTS
outbreaks, possible causes, and the GBRMPA's response to
addressing the issue.
