Dear Sherry Hudson and Jim Hendee,

Thank you for your kind attention for the recent disaster In South Asia.
We have a national coral reef rehabilitation and management program in Nias,
Mentawai and is beeing entend to west coast of Aceh. These coral reefs
sites are the most impacted areas by Tsunami in Indonesia.
This program aims to rehablitate, conserve and manage the coral reefs and
associated ecosystems and also to alleviate the poverty of people who depend
on the reefs. This program has been started since the fourth quarter of 2003
in the mentioned areas. The program activities include, Institutional
Sthrenthening, Community Based coral Reef Management, social and economic
small scale infrastructures, Alternative Livelihood, Coral Reef research.

We are seeking support from any experts, institutions and donors to save the
reefs and the peoples, and for immediate action to rebuild the area with
social and economic small scale infrastructures.
We would be very welcome for your ideas to work side by side and to
facilitate your ideas to work in the disastered areas in Indonesia.

Kindest regards

Sapta Putra Ginting
Executive Secretary for Indonesian Coral Reefs Rehabilitation and Management
Program
