The Roatan Marine Park is a Non-Profit Organization Leading Roatan, Honduras Campaign to Conserve Our Reefs.
   
  Available Position:  Director of Research and Development
  Expected start date: September 1st, 2007       
   
  Duties and Responsibilities
    
   Orchestration of daily patrols, delegation of tasks and coordination of volunteers.  
   Implementation of management plan and execution of grant funded programs (youth and public education, reforestation, research and monitoring).  
   Continue both a Recycling and a Water quality monitoring program already established  
   Liaison between government, legal authorities, public and international communities.  
   Attendance to local and regional conferences and workshops concerning area of expertise.  
   Contribute to the organization’s growth and diversification.  
   Basic accounting and customer service.  
   Contribute to community sustainable growth, education and communication.  
   Conduct impromptu and official inspections of developments.  
   Provide unofficial environmental consultation.  
   Organize and oversee community meetings.
   
  Qualifications Required
    
   Fluent in Spanish.  
   Fluent in English.  
   University Degree in Marine Biology, Coastal Development, Coastal Ecology, Sustainable Development or anything to that effect.  
   Energetic, innovative, hard working, dedicated to conservation, charismatic, community oriented, political and a role model for all.  
   Experienced in basic accounting.  
   Well versed in Microsoft Office software.  
   GIS training.  
   Capable of using web page designing software would be helpful.  
   Experienced in submitting proposals and executing the proposed programs.  
   Global orientation with local influences.
