[Coral-List] Pigment extraction

Dear Coral listers,

as part of my masters research I want to determine dinoflagellate 
pigments via HPLC.
I have searched the literature for the best extraction procedure and 
found different protocols.
Can any of you give me some good advice what has worked best for them? 
e.g. Acetone vs. methanole extraction, whole coral samples vs. algal 
pellets etc.
I'd be grateful for any help.
