James M. Cervino,

Here are three articles that can give you an idea of the broad diet of Diadema.

- Idrisi, et al. 2003 - Postmetamorphic growth and metabolism of Long-Spined Sea Urchin (Diadema antillarum) reared in the Laboratory. Mar. Fresh. Behav. Physiol., Vol. 00, No. 0, pp. 1–9
- Hay, M.E., Taylor, P.R. 1985. Competition between herbivorous fishes and urchins on Caribbean reefs. Oecologia 65:591–598
- Randall, et. al. 1964 - Notes on the biology of Diadema antillarum (from University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez).

This other articles may interest you as well. They might not be as explicit in the specific species of algae being consumed by Diadema, rather being more quantitative than qualitative:

- Alves, et. al. 2003 - Grazing by Diadema antillarum upon algal communities on rocky substrates. Mar. Fresh. Behav. Physiol., Vol. 00, No. 0, pp. 1–9
- Aronson, et. al. 2000 - Herbivory and algal dynamics on the coral reef at Discovery Bay, Jamaica. Limnol. Oceanogr., 45(1), 2000, 251–255
- Lapointe, 1999 - Simultaneous top-down and bottom-up forces control macroalgal blooms on coral reefs. Limnol. Oceanogr., 44(6), 1999, 1586–1592

All the best.
