Dear colleagues,

We have recently published a paper that may be of interest to those
of you working on population genetics and connectivity of corals:

Wang, S., Zhang, L. and Matz, M.V. Microsatellite characterization
and marker development from public EST and WGS databases in the reef-
building coral Acropora millepora (Cnidaria, Anthozoa, Scleractinia).
Journal of Heredity 2008, doi: 10.1093/jhered/esn100.

We report 40 novel microsatellite markers for Acropora millepora,
mined from existing DNA sequence resources (ESTs and WGS sequences in
the NCBI database). 25 of those are transferrable to Acropora
hyacinthus, and so there is a good chance that they will apply to
your favorite Acropora species as well.
