Hi coral-listers,
The LTMP has recently released Status report number 8 for the Great
Barrier Reef. This report is designed to provide information on
population trends in key groups of organisms, particularly
crown-of-thorns starfish, corals and reef fishes along the length of the
GBR. In 2008 the report includes intensive surveys for 93 different
reefs from surveys in 2006 (56 reefs) and 2007 (47 reefs), as monitoring
the effects of the re-zoning of the GBR marine park was included in the
report. The executive summary and the full report ( high res version and
lower res version) are available electronically from the new look AIMS
web page at

If you would like a copy of the report on a CD, or you have any
enquiries, please direct these to Hugh Sweatman h.sweatman at aims.gov.au
