Quick Report from the Central Caribbean Marine Institute regarding Hurricane
Paloma:
 
We thank everyone for their concern about the welfare of our staff and field
station on Little Cayman in the wake of Hurricane Paloma (cat 4).  
All staff members are fine and based on our preliminary assessment the
Little Cayman Research Centre had only minimal damage.  
Rainwater entered the building upstairs, however, the facility has no
structural damage. 
 
The island has no power and the infrastructure on both sister islands is
compromised.  We anticipate having power in the next couple of weeks.
