Greetings,

I am looking for assistance in collecting tourism data for a new publication titled "Reefs at Risk Revisited." Specifically, we're looking for a good global database of dive centers and/or dive resorts. This information will help us in our global mapping and modeling of threats to coral reefs, as well as in an analysis of the economic importance of reefs.

- Are you aware of any global data set or significant data sources on dive centers/dive resorts?

- Do you know of any other efforts to compile such information?

More information about the project is below ---

"Reefs at Risk Revisited" is an update of the 1998 global analysis "Reefs at Risk: A Map-Based Indicator of Threats to the World's Coral Reefs" and is scheduled to be released in mid 2010. It will feature analyses based on new, high-resolution data and improved modeling methods, and will include climate-related threats to coral reefs. The project is led by the World Resources Institute (WRI) in collaboration with the International Coral Reef Action Network (ICRAN), UNEP-WCMC, and the WorldFish Center, as well as many partner organizations. A flyer with additional project information can be found at the following link: http://docs.wri.org/share/reefs/RRR_Flyer.pdf

Thanks much for your help,

-Katie
