[Coral-List] Daniel Pauly's keynote address at the 2009 GCFI Conference

GCFI is pleased to announce that the keynote address at the 62nd GCFI in Cumana, Venezuela will be presented by Dr. Daniel Pauly.  The title of his address and the summary follow:



If you didn't like overfishing, you sure won't like global warming



This presentation will briefly recap the status of global fisheries, with some emphasis on the Central West Atlantic. It will then present the methodology leading to the conclusion that fisheries catch potentials will shift toward higher latitudes, and lead to severe impacts in tropical waters, including the wider Caribbean.
