[Coral-List] SECORE workshop & Acropora restoration project Curacao

Dear all, 
 
The SECOREgroup is currently in Curacao to prepare forthe Acropora spawning. This field workshop is the kick-off for a 3-yearsresearch project aimed at developing restoration techniques for the endangered Acropora palmata and A. cervicornis. A land-based coralculture system is about to be finalized which will serve as a nursery to raiserecruits for a large-scale reintroduction study. 
 
Therestoration project in Curacao has been set up by the Rotterdam Zoo (Netherlands) and the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium(USA) in collaboration withthe Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany),the CARMABI  Foundation, the Curacao SeaAquarium (Netherlands Antilles) and Diveversity.
