Postdoctoral Position in Coral Immunity at University of Texas at Arlington



The Biology Department at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship with Laura Mydlarz beginning as soon as January 2011.


The successful candidate will work on projects investigating how environmental stressors affect scleractinian coral immunity. This is a collaboration with John Bruno at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Ernesto Weil University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez. The project will be based at the University of Texas at Arlington, but travel to La Parguera, Puerto Rico and Chapel Hill, NC will be necessary. The duties include field experiments including underwater and SCUBA work, lab analysis using a combination of molecular and histological techniques, and writing of manuscripts and proposals.
