Dear Coral-List

For your information, there is a new PhD program focused on biodiversity (including coral and coral reefs) starting to recruit potential applicants now (http://biodiv.sinica.edu.tw/TIGP-BP/home.html). Please visit the web if you are interested in joining this program.

We have several PIs working on coral reef related research, ranging from early life history, reproduction, microbial diversity, symbiosis and bleaching, genetics and genome research. Taiwan and its offshore island groups are surrounded by tropical coral reefs and subtropical coral communities both influenced by Kuroshio current and monsoons. Taiwan is also a stepping stone to reach neighboring countries with coral reefs including East and Southeast Asia. This combination provides a diverse research topic to be developed in potential PhD thesis.

For those who are interested in applying this program, please feel free to contact the program director and secretary listed in the TIGP-Biodiversity website.

Cheers, Allen Chen
