Hi Sarah,

I forgot to mention the GoPro Hero camera as a potential solution. It  
is small and cheap, but it appears you cannot sync it to strobes,  
which would be necessary if your timelapse shots take place during the  
night or in dark waters: http://gopro.com/products/
