The German-Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards scholarships to students
from developing countries in order to continue their education in the Master
of Science Programme "International Studies in Aquatic Tropical Ecology
(ISATEC)" at the University of Bremen (Germany) in collaboration with the
Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology, Bremen.
Eligible are students from developing countries holding a BSc degree from a
relevant programme in biological and/or environmental sciences and having
two years of topic-related work experience.
The main objectives of the ISATEC programme are as follows:
- The essentials for understanding the structure and function of aquatic
ecosystems in the tropics.
- Theoretical concepts and methods for resource assessment and valuation.
- Approaches for coastal planning and management.
- Field work experience during data collection for the Master's thesis.
