Evolutionary genomics of reef-building corals
(postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Mikhail Matz, University of Texas at Austin, http://www.bio.utexas.edu/research/matz_lab )

	The goal of this research is to understand the forces of natural selection affecting reef-building corals, using approaches of comparative genomics, global gene expression analysis, systems biology, and population genomics. An ideal candidate would have documented experience with analysis of large sequence datasets, such as by scripting in bioperl or biopython, as well as knowledge of R or equivalent statistical software. Basic knowledge of coral biology is desirable.  
	The position will start as soon as possible, and no later than October 2011. The initial contract will be for one year with the yearly salary $40K (plus benefits), and will be renewable yearly depending on the progress.
