Happy hour celebration with SCB, DCMC, WAN and GMU, bringing the area’s top marine and conservation networks together for the second time!  With FREE appetizers (while they last)!
 
2011 has been quite a year for the international marine community. From the passing of the West Coast shark fin ban, through the huge success of the 2nd International Marine 
Conservation Congress, to the high seas purse-seining closures in the 
Western Tropical Pacific, there’s been much to celebrate! But, there is 
also still much to do.
 
To encourage celebration and facilitate networking for future successes, 
the D.C. Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) and the SCB Marine Section have teamed up with IUCN’s 
D.C. Marine Community (DCMC), the Women’s Aquatic Network (WAN) and 
GMU’s Environmental Science & Policy Department (ESP) and Graduate 
Student Association (ESP-GSA) to bring to you the 2nd D.C. Marine Celebration.
 
We invite you to attend this event, which will be held from 6 to 10pm on the 10thNovember 2011 at Rock Bottom in Ballston, Arlington, in honor of their now legendary contributions to the IMCC. Appetizers will be provided (while snacks last).
