PhD opportunity: Understanding the combined effects of herbicides and climate change on tropical seagrass (James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Science).

A key policy to minimise the effects of climate change on tropical marine organisms (e.g. coral bleaching and loss of seagrass cover) is to improve water quality, thereby reducing the potential for pollution to exacerbate the effects of thermal stress. This project aims to quantify the chronic effects and toxic thresholds of herbicides detected in the GBR on seagrass under current and future climate scenarios.

Starting date is negotiable but soon is preferred.

A stipend equivalent to the Australian Postgraduate Award will be available.

International applicants may attract international student fees
