Damian,
   in your case, it turns out the IJPAE is listed here on this list of predatory journals as not having been published under the auspice of any publisher..and are thus considered "independent" (this is List #2 number 84) and potentially predatory..

http://scholarlyoa.com/2012/12/06/bealls-list-of-predatory-publishers-2013/

The other journal is not on the list-but maybe should be??

there is a fair amount of talk on the Internet about this subject-google "predatory journal"

Would be interested to hear any follow up.. But I suspect you will not get a response from the Journal editors...

That's incredible! At least, in the case with the Iranian sea urchins they used their own data... But in your case... Oh Wait! It's INCREDIBLE! They even copied the tables with the same species in the diet!!! Could anyone ever believe that "Mytilus edulis platensis" or "Pagurus comptus" are present in the Andaman Islands????

I hope these criminals have the punishment they deserve!

Dear collegues,

I have recently received my daily Google Scholar alert on Echinoderms topics and I found something amazing that needed to communicate:

I found that my paper on feeding ecology of Anasterias minuta at Patagonia published in 2008 (in Revista de Biologia Tropical), was used/copy almost entirely in a recent paper by Sadhukhan and Raghunathan (on Feeding ecology of Asterina sarasini in reef communities...). It is a copy&paste paper, with even same introduction, objectives, M&M, even same tables, figures, same results on body sizes correlations!!!. The paper was published in International Journal of Plant, Animal and Environmental Sciencies and of course did not include us in the acknowledgements!

Did you anyone found something like this to be happening in echinoderm studies?

Last year I found an even extreme case on a paper done by Dr. Williamson from New South Wales University.

You can found both original and copy version below:

My recent case:
Original paper: http://www.cimar.ucr.ac.cr/volumenes-especiales/contenidos/PDFS/echinod2/17-Gil-Patagonia.pdf
Copy&Paste paper: http://www.ijpaes.com/admin/php/uploads/326_pdf.pdf

Case of Dr. Williamson (New South Wale University);

Original paper (on Mar Biol -2002): http://bio.mq.edu.au/aroubice/bio_new/centres/marine_ecology/Papers/HpRepro.pdf
Copy&Past paper (on Journal Biol Sciences - 2008):: http://docsdrive.com/pdfs/ansinet/jbs/2008/1138-1148.pdf
