This position will provide support for developing and implementing a
regional monitoring and evaluation plan for the seascapes where WWF
Indonesia work and more specifically for the Sunda Banda Seascape Region,
to measure biophysical and socio-economic changes and to inform relevant
managers and decision makers in support of adaptive management.

· *       Major Duties*

Develop stronger science, monitoring, and translation/communication in
WWF-Indonesia by developing and overseeing best practices for the full
cycle of research and monitoring (including research design, conservation
planning, determining what to monitor, how to do so, data organization &
management, analysis & interpretation etc.).  Enhance science dissemination
capacity.

·         Develop and implement a regional monitoring and evaluation plan
for the Seascapes where WWF Indonesia work with more prioritized for the Sunda
Banda Seascape Region, to measure biophysical and socio-economic changes
and to inform relevant managers and decision makers in support of adaptive
management, in collaboration with the Conservation Science Program, WWF-US

·         Coordinate and manage collection and analysis of data and
information on key biological and socio-economic parameters to support the
design of a new MPA Network, including Rapid Assessments and in cooperation
with key stakeholders at the provincial and district levels.

·          Develop relevant collaborations (with universities, LIPI, etc)
and establish agreements/MOUs to facilitate access to students/expertise
and explore potential funding.  Provide technical assistance,
capacity-building, and training to key stakeholders as appropriate.

·         With WWF-ID Policy team, document lessons learned, as well as
continue to develop BMPs for MPA management and policy for consideration by
relevant government authorities, taking into account lessons learned from
the BHS and Sunda Banda Seascape Region experiences, as well as the
Indonesian government’s process for establishing national guidelines for
MPA management effectiveness.

·         Engage with partners, to coordinate and facilitate collaboration
and/or complementarities of activities.

·         Assist WWF-ID senior management with developing and implementing
work plans, assessing progress, fundraising, and reporting to donors.

*Basic requirements:*

Advanced degree in ecological or marine science or environmental policy

Experience working in the Coral Triangle (Indonesia preferred)
