The Australian Institute of Marine Science is seeking an environmental decisions scientist to work across research disciplines to tackle critical issues on the Great Barrier Reef (GBR).


This position will join a team focused on solving problems for coral reef management, specifically developing innovative tools for structured decision-making to support adaptive environmental management of the GBR World Heritage Area.


The successful applicant will be an early-to-mid career researcher with post-doctoral experience in the area of decision science using qualitative and quantitative methods applicable to ecological and social systems.


Demonstrated skills in applying mathematical and statistical modelling and data analysis, including spatial and multivariate datasets, are essential, as is an interest in developing solution-focused research in the area of reef ecosystem resilience.


This is a permanent ongoing employment opportunity and will be based at our Townsville Research Facility in Queensland.
