Program Description: The Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF) is a 
nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to creating offshore 
nurseries and restoration programs for threatened coral species, 
nationally and internationally. For more information please visit

Position: Reporting to the President of CRF, the Executive Director (ED) 
will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for CRF 
staff, programs and execution of its mission.The ED will manage, develop 
and expand core programs, operations, and strategic planning. The 
position is located in Key Largo, Florida, home to the CRF office and 
education center.

*Responsibilities*

_Leadership and management_

·Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program 
evaluation, and consistent quality of operations related to finance 
(accounting), administration (human resources, information technology, 
marketing), fundraising, and communications.

·Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals

·Actively engage and energize CRF staff, volunteers, board members, 
partnering organizations, and funders

·Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors: serve as 
ex-officio on board committees, seek and build board involvement with 
strategic direction for both ongoing local programs as well as for 
national and international efforts.

·Lead, coach, and develop, CRF staff to ensure that effective systems 
exist to track progress.

·Regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be 
effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.


_Fundraising and Communications_

·Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support 
existing and expanded program operations.

·Develop fundraising and marketing activities, including grant-writing.

·Deepen and refine all aspects of CRF communications --- from web 
presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.

·Use existing relationships and develop new relationships to acquire new 
funding opportunities.

_
Planning and New Business_

·Complete strategic planning process for local, national, and 
international program expansion.

·Build partnerships in new markets, establish relationships with new and 
existing funders, and political and community leaders.

·Be an external local and national presence that publishes and 
communicates program results that emphasizes the successes of local 
programs as a model for regional and national, and international 
replication.


_Field Operations_

·Responsibility for all dive operations, including work with volunteers, 
maintenance and expansion of Coral Nurseries, transplanting and 
monitoring operations to meet existing and expanded program requirements.

*Qualifications*

·The Executive Director will be totally committed to the mission of 
CRF.Candidates should have proven leadership and relationship management 
experience.

·Advanced degree is desirable but not required. At least five years of 
senior management experience; track record of effectively leading a 
regional or national organization and staff; ability to point to 
specific examples of developing and implementing strategies that have 
taken an organization to the next stage of growth.

·Commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.

·Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach 
staff, manage and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve 
strategic objectives, and manage a budget.

·Past success working with a Board of Directors and the ability to 
cultivate existing board member relationships.

·Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the 
ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and 
passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and 
multidisciplinary project skills.

·Action orientated, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach 
to business planning.

·Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.

·Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and 
self-directed.

·Existing dive certification or willingness (and fitness) to attain 
nationally recognized dive certification.
