This book focuses on reefs in general, including but not limited to coral reefs. After an introduction to reefs and reef formation, the chapters are organized by biotic group ranging from cyanobacteria to fishes, each with references from the primary literature. The last chapters are devoted to reef history, ecology and biogeography, the future of reefs, and conservation issues.
