ABOUT CRF

CRF is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization headquartered in Key Largo,
Florida. Our mission is to develop affordable, effective strategies for
protecting and restoring coral reefs and to train and empower others to
implement those strategies in their coastal communities, restoring and
preserving these aquatic treasures for future generations.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The internship is designed to introduce individuals to the non-profit
sector of marine conservation, focusing on the restoration of coral reef
ecosystems. The program is geared towards those enrolled in an
undergraduate program, graduate program, or individuals who are recent
graduates. Positions generally last 3-4 months and are full-time, unpaid
positions. Interns can expect to gain a vast amount of experience both on
the water and in the Education Center (EC). In the EC, interns perform a
range of tasks including answering phones, greeting visitors and answering
questions, inputting data, and performing aquarium maintenance. Dive days
occur 2-4 times a week, where interns assist CRF staff with various
activities including maintenance in CRF’s offshore coral nurseries,
outplanting corals to designated restoration sites throughout the Upper
Keys, and leading fellow divers participating in our dive programs.
