This is a unique opportunity to oversee our work in the region. The Executive Director is the chief executive for the Caribbean operating unit. The Executive Director is very familiar with the Caribbean's natural systems, culture, society, and leaders, and is comfortable working with CEOs, partner organizations, heads of state, and other high ranking government officials. S/he will manage a professional, 50-person team including seven direct reports responsible for conservation, philanthropy, external affairs, operations, and marketing. The Executive Director is responsible for a significant portion of direct fundraising, raising program funds from public and private sources, and has experience working with a board of advisors.
Required: Undergraduate degree, 7+ years relevant experience, strong leadership and management experience, in-depth understanding of the Caribbean context, superb communication and presentation skills, experience communicating with and presenting to diverse audiences including donors, board members, employees, outside partners, experience in fundraising and budget management, a passion for the natural world, fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
Location: Miami, Florida or one of the major offices in the region
