[Coral-List] Preservation and transfer of Symbiodinium?

Hi all,

I had a question from a non-scientist about manually transferring
Symbiodinium among corals.  Not my area, though I did have a peek around the
net
.  Can Symbiodinium can be preserved (e.g. cryogenically) for future
transfer to other corals?  What are the methods (very generally) of transfer
from one coral to another (e.g. injection?).  If available, a reference or
link would be great for passing on!
