Dear Colleagues

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) advises Government on UK and international nature conservation (including Overseas Territories) and is seeking an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Marine Assessment and Reporting Manager. You will join our team focused on marine ecosystem assessments and advice. You will be responsible for developing new and improved approaches, tools and strategies for the assessments that JNCC undertakes in offshore marine waters (e.g. for Marine Protected Areas), nationally (e.g. Habitats Directive and Marine Strategy Framework Directive) and internationally (e.g. OSPAR and Convention on Biological Diversity). These assessments are needed for a variety of purposes including determining whether site objectives and national/international targets are being met, whether management measures are required and being effective (especially for MPAs), and if the marine ecosystem is being used sustainably.

For more information about the competencies and the post currently on offer please visit http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/page-3252 where you can download the details and the relevant application form and find out more about our work. Alternatively, contact us via recruitment at jncc.gov.uk or call +44 (0)1733 866821. The closing date is 9am (British Summer Time) on Monday 16th June 2014. Interviewing will take place provisionally on Wednesday 25th June 2014. Please be aware that JNCC is a UK Government advisory body so you need to be eligible to work in the UK prior to applying for this job.

Thanks

Jane
