Dear Coral-Listers
CALL FOR ITEMS FOR THE NEXT EDITION OF REEF ENCOUNTER
May I use Coral-List to circulate a call for items for publication in
the next issue of REEF ENCOUNTER, the news journal of ISRS (the
International Society for Reef Studies).
REEF ENCOUNTER is now available as a downloadable pdf to non-members as
well as members and so is widely read.
In summary REEF ENCOUNTER accepts:
1. SHORT NEWS ITEMS concerning coral reef research or management
2. GENERAL ARTICLES summarising a field of work or discussing an issue
of relevance
3. SHORT RESEARCH REPORTS (1-3 pages) describing new findings (reports
from early career or developing country authors especially welcome)
4. OVERVIEWS of existing or new research or management projects or
institutional programmes
5. REVIEWS of books, manuals, major reports, equipment or software
(items for review or actual reviews both welcome)
Notes for contributors are included on the back pages of the most recent
edition of REEF ENCOUNTER which can be downloaded either from the
relevant page of the ISRS website or
_coralreefs.org/publications/reef-encounters/_
or from
http://www.sgmeet.com/isrs/membership/files/REEF-ENCOUNTER-29-1-Feb2014.pdf
Items for the next edition should be submitted (if possible by the end
of June) to me (_editor.reefencounter at gmail.com_) or the deputy editor
(caroline_rogers at usgs.gov) or directly to the relevant section editor as
listed on the inside of the front cover. Enquiries concerning possible
items are also welcome.
With thanks,
Rupert Ormond
