The RCUK committee is pleased to announce that the RCUK 2014 meeting will be held on 6th December 2014 at the Zoological Society of London. This meeting is held to promote the mission of RCUK by opening the lines of communication through a series of presentations, posters and networking opportunities. Aside from the scheduled programme on the day, this meeting is an excellent opportunity to meet fellow UK reef workers and enthusiasts to discuss ideas and activities on an informal basis.

This meeting will continue to highlight the need for multidisciplinary studies of coral reefs and adjacent environments, as linked to the RCUK themes of conservation, management and education. Therefore, students, researchers and professionals, from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines involved with coral reef activities, are encouraged to participate. The meeting is intended to raise awareness of an individual's or organisation's work and interests to the wider UK coral reef concerned community.

NB: The Chagos Conservation Trust will also be holding their annual conference at ZSL on Friday 5th December 2014 - reduce your carbon emissions and increase the benefits of your trip by registering for both! Please visit www..chagos-trust.org<http://www.chagos-trust.org> for more information.

Call For Papers And Posters
You are invited to submit a title and abstract for an oral presentation or poster. All papers will be considered and every effort will be made to include them in the programme but please note that only a limited number of oral presentations are possible during the duration of the meeting. Given the limited number of paper presentations, posters will form a key component of the day. All abstracts will be made available to attendees. The emphasis of this meeting is communication, and the exchange of information and ideas, which is why all are encouraged to submit an abstract of current research and/or case study.

Contributions are encouraged from all disciplines, research students, university lecturers, aquarists, field conservation workers, consultants and those involved with ecotourism. Those from socio-economic, coastal livelihoods and/or human-wildlife interfacing backgrounds are particularly welcomed.

ABSTRACTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2014

Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words (MS Word format or text file) indicating whether it is for poster or oral presentation. In the case of multiple authors please underline who will be making the presentation. Multiple author presentations are not discouraged but they must adhere to the time allotted for the presentation. Most presentations will be 15 minutes in length (including questions) but there may also be opportunities for speed talks (5mins) or longer presentations (30mins). Timing will be strictly adhered to for the purposes of scheduling and to allow time for discussion. Posters should be portrait and are to be no larger than A1.

Electronic abstract submissions are preferred - please email them to rcuk at zsl.org<mailto:rcuk at zsl.org>.

REGISTRATION DETAILS
For students a fee of £30 will be charged and for all others £35 - this is to help to defer the costs on the day (coffee/tea, lunch and free drinks reception following the meeting) and the production of the abstract booklet. Those registering after 21st November 2014 will be required to pay additional fees which will include a £5 late charge.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN SOON AT WWW.ZSL.ORG/RCUK<http://WWW.ZSL.ORG/RCUK> - YOU MAY SUBMIT ABSTRACTS IN ADVANCE

In order to accommodate participants for catering on the day please register before 21st NOVEMBER 2014.
