Thank you to those of you who have already submitted abstracts for the
upcoming conference in Abu Dhabi (Feb. 15-17); this email serves as a
gentle reminder of the approaching deadline for those who have not yet
registered. Feel free to highlight the conference to other colleagues who
have an interest in Arabian and Persian reefs.

You are invited to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation at
the "Coral Reefs of Arabia" conference, to be held from February 15-17, 2015
at New York University Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emnirates).

The purpose of this conference is to bring together leading regional and
international coral reef scientists to discuss recent research and to open
opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among participants. The
geographic scope of this conference includes the Persian/Arabian Gulf, the
northwestern Indian Ocean (Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman), and the Red Sea.

This three day conference will include themed symposium sessions, each
opened by a keynote address from a renowned expert in the field. Themed
topics will include biogeography and evolution, coral community structure
and dynamics, reef fish community structure and dynamics, molecular ecology
and physiology, biophysical processes, as well as a session on conservation
and management.

This conference is being supported by the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute, the
research wing of New York University Abu Dhabi. There are no fees to
attend. Travel support grants are available for presenters; requests for
support can be made during the abstract submission process (visit visa
support will also be provided). Decisions on acceptance and funding will be
based on abstract quality and relevance to the conference topic and
geographic scope.
