[Coral-List] Two Research Scientist Job Openings in Little Cayman

The Central Caribbean Marine Institute seeks to hire two full-time research scientists to work at the Little Cayman Research Centre.

Research Associate (Coral Reef Resilience & Climate Change Specialist) to be the Project Lead for our coral restoration and LAMP (Long-Term Assessment and Monitoring Program) projects. The Research Associate will be responsible for managing our coral nursery, Coral Reef Early Warning System (CREWS), bleaching and disease surveillance, AGRRA benthic surveys, and citizen science programs.  Job requirements include a PhD degree in marine science or oceanography; publication record related to coral restoration, exceptional physical and chemical data modeling skills; familiarity with Sontec, SeaFET, and HOBO instrumentation; and scientific diving skills. Research Scientist/Associate & Lab Manager (Biodiversity & Ocean Health Specialist) to be the Project Lead for our lionfish research program.  This position is also responsible (i) developing and securing funding for another biodiversity research project and (ii) managing our existing labs and establishing our new Ocean Health lab.  Job requirements include a PhD in a marine science related field (will consider an exceptional MS with 3+ years post-graduate work experience); publication record related to lionfish and biodiversity; exceptional biostatistics skills;  Caribbean fish and macroalgae species identification skills; and scientific diving skills.
